In-Home aged care residents in NSW are being encouraged to prepare for the floods, following Queensland’s flood crisis.

The myHomecare Group, Australia’s largest Home Care Package Provider, urges NSW residents to learn from Queensland’s mistakes.

As a result of the flooding, Queensland’s aged care Support Workers were cut off from their in-home clients.

The myHomecare Group CEO Stuart Miller said now is the time to contact family and work on an emergency plan.

“These floods have had a devastating impact on communities with many of our Queensland clients and staff experiencing flooding in their homes, our staff has been working around the clock making welfare checks on clients and redirecting support workers to temporary locations.”

“We urge NSW residents as weather movements head south to get ahead and not wait until it’s too late.”

“As a support provider, as well as families and communities, must work together to ensure these people are safe.”
